Scalable low-cost clean energy from the ocean
SAILWINT produces and delivers cheap, clean and resilient hydrogen at scale with autonomous wind turbine ships sailing offshore seas
Mission
SAILWINT creates a new era: the era of sailing wind turbine ships, unlocking the vast, untapped energy of the oceans. We deliver low-cost and clean power to fuel thriving economies and societies. Our mission is to make clean energy at scale affordable, socially acceptable and resilient to achieve energy sovereignty and to overcome the fossil fuel age.

Batteries
Electrolyzer
Hydrogen storage
Sailing mechanism
Energy offloading
AI-steering and fleet operations
Wind turbines
Market-available, industry-proven wind turbines are sourced and integrated into the SAILWINT ships to generate clean electricity from the kinetic energy of strong and steady far-offshore winds

Pilots
SAILWINT has built an operational prototype and successfully launched a pilot campaign on the offshore North Sea between Cuxhaven and Helgoland with the Fraunhofer Institute in December 2024.
The next scaled-up iteration is currently under development. SAILWINT has secured a federal grant to build the next generation of energy-producing sailing wind turbine ships and launch pilots on the North- and Baltic Sea with our partners.

In November 2025, SAILWINT has launched its new scaled-up version with a pilot on the Baltic Sea near Rostock/Warnemünde and demonstrated sailing propulsion with simultaneous energy generation, including sailing courses on a beam reach, broad reach and upwind tacking.
To discover our pilot program and collaboration opportunities contact: pilots@sailwint.com. SAILWINT is collaborating with industry, research and dual-use partners in pilot projects in the following areas:
